Ending A Busy Year

" Summer Topper Meanders"

   This quilt was an adventure in the making. The block is not even the same as It had intended to be.

I love the colors but nothing looked right with the  original block. So what do I do???

Split the block in half! and reformulate. This was certainly better. Still the graphics were way to busy.

The colorway could have gone gray but being a summer thought I decided  to go lavender.

Still to much all around to put the block next to each other. Oh no, cant go with another sashing around each block. Lets us off set rows. Yep, that did it for this quilt project.

    Off to do the quilting. The project was sandwiched with flannel. Very light in the quilt definitions. I chose a light gray color thread. I must say, this blended it so well that I could barley see the thread in the lavender and gray fabric.

Anyhow it was a good project.
